1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
The “command” to rejoice is found in the Bible with greater frequency than almost any other command given. It’s continual repetition should remind us that the Lord wants us to keep an attitude of praise which leads to the action of rejoicing. While it is easy to rejoice when life is going “your way” it is not so easy when life seems to fall apart. So how can we rejoice when our world is turned upside down? Verse 17 starts giving us the answer . . Pray without ceasing. Show me a man that rejoices evermore and I will show you a man that prays without ceasing!! Prayer is simply the natural man connecting with the Supernatural One that has the ability and power to make things as they should be. PLEASE NOTE It is NOT good vibes or happy thoughts that change things it is “in Christ Jesus” (vs 18) that all things are possible.
Today focus on Christ and His will for you, stay in constant contact by prayer and you will find you will become a person who is able to “rejoice evermore”.
My prayer:
Today Lord Jesus I trust your plans. I know you have the very best in store for me. Help me to see that, even when life seems to be turned upside down, You are “behind the scenes” working things out for good. I TRUST YOU.
Job 13:15
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
